I Am Super Gorge’s creator, Ashley Silva decided to pursue her passion and launch a site that covered everything from fashion and entertainment to beauty and music. Now one year old, the popular blog site is the go to place for the latest news, hottest interviews, and best fashion& beauty advice.
Start by telling us more about yourself and your business (educational background, hometown, age you started your business, how business came about, etc.)
I’m Ashley Silva from Baltimore, MD. I am a graduate of Connetciut School of Broadcasting, as well as a certified make up artist and I studied Fashion Merchandising for a while. IAMSUPERGORGE.com , which is just a year old ( I was 25 when I started it) came about because I wanted to be able to express my love for Entertainment, fashion and beauty all at once, with my 1st love entertainment, being #1!!

What has been your biggest obstacle being a young entrepreneur and how did you overcome it?
Since we are a young business (my age and the companies age) we still face obstacles everyday.But time management and asking for help, has been the biggest obstacle. I am one of those people who can do it all, or at least I think I can. My pride sometimes gets in the way.
How has age factored into your success?
My goal is to make (at least) my 1st million by the age of 30! I have 3 1/2 years to do so! I grind hard daily! Work hard now, so you don’t have to later!
Describe a day in the life of (company name)?
Wheeeeeew!!! IAMSUPERGORGE.com is a 24 hour job! Entertainment news doesn’t sleep! My laptop or phone is always glued to me because you never know when the next story will break! There are nights I barely get sleep because either a story is breaking or I’m up thinking of new ideas. I can’t remember the last day I’ve just relaxed!
Where do you see your company in the next 5 years?
A full on empire. kind of like what the Kardashians have built. IAMSUPERGORGE.com will still give breaking entertainment news, along with having a TV show, producing, a shoe line, make up lines, the potential is endless.
What advice would you give up and coming entrepreneurs?
Have a plan and know when to ask for help!
What blogs and publications do you read to get guidance as an entrepreneur?
None really. But I do look up to Oprah, Diddy and Kimora Lee, for how they have built brands. I recently read an article in Black Enterprise by Yandy from Love & Hip Hop about entrepreneur ship, it was informative.
If you could pick a celebrity to be the spokesperson for your company/brand who would it be and why?
Hmmm. Never thought about that! It would have to be someone like Beyonce or Kimora Lee Simmons. A mom,wife and business woman like myself!
Outside of your business, what are your other interests?
I live entertainment. I love it! If I could pick something else to do, it would be acting!
